The Happiness Challenge

The Happiness Challenge

Happiness is like a yawn... contagious, easily spread from one person to the other. Be it their mood, their smile, or their laugh. If one person is happy, it's quite easy for those who surround them to laugh and smile with them. Happiness can be diffiuclt to maintain, especially amongst an atmosphere with such a vibrant dynamic.

-Association: As stated above, those you surround yourself with greatly impact your happiness. If you are around those who are constantly in a negative mood, it will drain you and make it increasingly difficult to stay happy.

-Love yourself: Being happy within, with yourself is the only way to ensure a solid outward happiness. Think about it. How can you share a positive mood with others if you are constantly unhappy? A genuine happiness begins with yourself and slowly spreads outward. Internal happiness will be a support when the shineness has worn off of a new relationship, and the first problem arises.

Surrounded by negative people, it is difficult to focus on what is important, regardless if you are Master or slave. You're energy, typically focused elsewhere is refocused on making the sad person around you happy. Emotional vampire was a great term I heard - people can literally suc the happiness out of the atmosphere with their constant negative mood.

It's important to remember that problems happen, rl happens, issues happen. That's why we have communication - journals, conversations, support systems. It's important, though, to remember to focus on the positve as well, as that is a fantastic tool to combat the negative. I've often found that thinking about at least one positive thing can definitely take some of the sting away from a bad day.

A happy family unit, poly or mono, is a more productive, more cohesive family. There's more pleasure, more rewards and more blissful time spent together. While it can be hard to maintain a happy attitude, it helps to remember that it pays off. There's nothing like the ecstasy of a family in harmony. Obedience. Communication. Trust. Respect. Honesty. All vital tools for a joyous relationship that will survive both the highs and the lows.

Focus on positivity. Support and motivate yourself and your friends and family (Owner and/or sisters) around you.

This is our challenge this week! We'd love to hear any feedback and progress. Feel free to comment!

  4. Happiness is essential in any relationship as well as being a productive slave. A sad slave isnt focussed on their Master becuase of their mood and self reflection that they are going through. A happy slave however feels that joy and is eager to serve her Master or Mistress. I loved this blog Jessa and you are right as happiness is contagious just as unhappiness can be poison to any family poly or not.
